Dear Revelle, Although I didn’t know Henry, I certainly remember you as a dedicated teacher at Jefferson School. I’m very sorry for your loss and I hope you will accept my sincere condolences. I can imagine how you’re feeling at this moment because I lost my Marlene recently on November 4th. Remembering your great attitude, I’m sure you’ll continue to thrive even without your husband and best friend, Henry. God bless you, Tom Lo Presti.

Mister H seem just like yesterday when we would talk for hours about the your computer giving you a hassle. I started to work on Mister H computer about Mid summer of 2005 if memory serves me well he had a Dell. And if was the first time looking at such as small computer space to try to upgrade the system but I was able to do it. This was important to Mister H because he had pictures that were of his Daughter getting married and so sensitive that he didn’t want to lose them I mean he went back home to visit his boyhood home and I wasn’t by any right going to let him lose those memories. He always enjoyed hearing from me about my travels . I retired from Active duty May 2008. So I had an unique opportunity to do work on a contractor scale so I jumped right in and Henry just loved hearing about how bad our intelligence on certain assets. I truly with miss his funny insight on CTA. And his true genuine personality that I seen every time we talked. He was like an Uncle that we all miss.

So sorry that Revelle had to lose this wonderful man and great grandfather to their grandchildren. I’m happy to have met and known him. My husband and I have some good memories of Henry and Revelle in Florida that we will always cherish.

I worked with Henry at the CTA when he joined our Bus Service Management team as our administrative manager. Although we worked together for a few years, Henry and I remained in contact after I left CTA in 2011. We kept in touch via text messages as recently as this past holiday season. His text messages almost always began with “Waldo here,,,” I’m not sure how that got started but the “Waldo here” line was a theme in our communication all those years!
Henry was an easy going colleague who never seemed to be frustrated by anything or anyone. He and the rest of our management team usually had lunch together at least once a week–talking business but also any subject that came up. Henry obviously had a great wit, and was always right there with clever line or comment. But he was also thoughtful and introspective: a man of substance.
Once he retired, Henry talked about his morning coffee and newspaper ritual Starbucks, something he wouldn’t let the pandemic spoil, even though it meant sitting in his car in the parking lot!
I know how he cared and loved his family from the way he talked about his wife and kids! I am fortunate to have known Henry, albeit briefly, but I think he can best be summed up in three words: A real mensch! He will be missed.

Hank and I were like brothers. One of my fondest memories was sharing the driving from Chicago to L.A. in August 1966, when I reported for military service. We often reminisced about the fabulous time we had visiting St. Louis, the Ozarks, Oklahoma City, Tucumcari, NM, Petrified Forest National Park, Hoover Dam, and Las Vegas, where we took in Steve Lawrence & Edye Gorme at the Sands.
My wife Phyllis, who had Henry in her French class at Bowen High School, and I will miss Hank. Our deepest condolences to Revelle, Staci (who taught history to Phyllis’s niece Shira Green at Deerfield HS), Ari and the Schachters’ three wonderful grandchildren.

We are so sorry to hear the news of Henry’s passing. We shared so many wonderful times together eating, laughing, traveling, and eating more! Your family was an extension of our family. He was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed. May your memories bring comfort during this difficult time.
Henry also supported the start of my human resources career, opening doors for an internship at the CTA, which I am grateful. We enjoyed our time together!
Sending love,
